What are Dermal Fillers?
The most common hyaluronic acid-based face fillers we use is Juvederm®. It can be used to reshape facial features, fill in small wrinkles, and enhance volume in the lower face.
What is hyaluronic acid, and how does it work?
The body produces hyaluronic acid naturally in many places, including the skin, connective tissues, and eyes. In the body, the main function of the fluid sac is to keep structures lubricated and filled.
With age, the body’s natural production of hyaluronic acid declines. Dermal fillers containing hyaluronic acid help restore lost structure by filling in areas where the definition has been lost, or deeper lines have appeared.
What are the benefits of dermal fillers?
Skin rejuvenation is one of the most important benefits of fillers – lines and wrinkles can be smoothed out and the face sculpted with the help of dermal fillers. In addition to treating acne scars, facial fillers can also be used to alter and define facial features such as the nose, chin, and jawline.
Are dermal fillers safe?
Dermal fillers do have risks, but they can be significantly reduced if you choose a medically qualified practitioner who has the right training, lots of experience, and the relevant qualifications.
As part of your consultation, we will discuss your medical history and any medications you take that may affect treatment. Your safety is of the utmost importance.
